Dr. William Akwasi Ankobiah

Dr. William Ankobiah is an American-trained pulmonary and critical care specialist and the founder of Bemuah Royal Hospital in Accra, Ghana. With extensive experience practising in both the United States and Ghana, Dr. Ankobiah is dedicated to advancing specialised respiratory and cardiac care across West Africa. Under his leadership, Bemuah Royal Hospital has evolved into a premier private facility renowned for its state-of-the-art ICU services, the country’s largest asthma clinic, and its dedication to training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Kenneth W. Christian

Kenneth W. Christian is an experienced Investment Advisor and President of Maplewood Financial Group. He brings decades of financial planning expertise to help individuals and organizations build sustainable futures. As an active Founding board member and investor in Bemuah Royal Hospital, he founded the Bemuah Health Foundation to expand access to high-quality respiratory and cardiac care in Ghana and to support the hospital’s growth through strategic funding and partnerships.

Harold T. Epps

Harold T. Epps is a respected business and civic leader with decades of executive experience in the public and private sectors. As the former Director of Commerce for the City of Philadelphia, he has championed economic growth, workforce development, and strategic partnerships. Harold brings invaluable insight and a deep commitment to advancing the Bemuah Health Foundation’s mission of expanding access to specialised healthcare services in Ghana.

Dr. Augustus K. Eduafo

Dr. Augustus K. Eduafo is a board-certified nephrologist with over 29 years of experience at Renal Physicians Inc., where he cares for patients with kidney disease, oversees the dialysis unit, and leads transplant department meetings. Originally from Ghana, Dr. Eduafo earned his MD there before completing a Master’s in Pharmacology at Albany Medical College, an internal medicine residency at SUNY Brooklyn, and a fellowship at Cornell University. A dedicated educator and three-time Teacher of the Year awardee at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, he is now a clinical associate professor of medicine. Through the Bemuah Health Foundation and Bemuah Royal Hospital, Dr. Eduafo is committed to expanding specialized care for underserved communities.

Matthew E.S.T Kwaw

Matthew Kwaw is a founder of a public health company in Ghana, with over a decade of experience in US-founded non-profit organisations. In the field of Technology, he is a TD Synnex PartnerLink University Graduate. Matthew’s entrepreneurial path has created partnerships with European organisations such as the International Social Security Association. As the Communications and Public Relations Chair for the Bemuah Health Foundation, Matthew leads our reputation management and strategic outreach efforts. His work is grounded in a commitment to trust, transparency, and impactful communication that supports the Foundation’s mission and global engagement.

dannielle Frierson

Dannielle Frierson is a retired healthcare professional with over 31 years of experience at Blue Cross, where she supported sales and marketing operations, led enrollment presentations, and maintained strong relationships with employer groups and customers. Her work focused on Medicare supplemental plans, benefit strategy, and client retention. Now serving as Executive Assistant to the Board Chair of Bemuah Health Foundation, Dannielle brings her organisational expertise, healthcare knowledge, and dedication to excellence to support the board’s mission and operations.

Yvette D. Mitchell

Yvette D. Mitchell is a seasoned accounting professional with over 30 years of experience in tax planning, financial reporting, audit, and advisory services. She has held leadership roles at Deloitte & Touche, Mitchell & Titus (an EY Member Firm), and Horsey, Buckner & Heffler, LLP, and brings valuable expertise from both corporate and nonprofit sectors. Yvette holds an MBA in Accounting and Taxation from LaSalle University and a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting), Cum Laude, from Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. She is a federally licensed Enrolled Agent (EA), a Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute (NTPI), and holds a Certificate in Management Accounting from Villanova University. She is committed to supporting the Bemuah Health Foundation’s mission through strong financial stewardship and strategic guidance.
