Dr. William Akwasi Ankobiah
Dr. William Akwasi Ankobiah, born in Bekwai, Ghana, is a distinguished physician committed to advancing healthcare in his community. His journey is marked by academic excellence, including graduating with top honors from Swedru Secondary School and Adisadel College, and earning a medical degree from the University of Ghana Medical School on a full Bank of Ghana scholarship.
Dr. Ankobiah completed his residency and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care at SUNY Health Sciences Center in Brooklyn. He held key positions, such as Associate Chairman of Medicine at Interfaith Medical Center and later ran Rosedale Medical Office in Queens, NY, for 15 years. In 2019, he fully returned to Ghana to lead Bemuah Royal Hospital, transforming it into one of the country’s top healthcare facilities.
He has also made significant academic contributions as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana and served as a Consultant in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Ankobiah has received numerous awards, including the Nortey Ababio Prize in Clinical Pediatrics and recognition as one of the Best Physicians in the New York metro area by Castle Connolly for ten consecutive years.
